Client Background
Debitchamp set out to solve a persistent hiring problem in accounting and bookkeeping: employers had no reliable way to gauge candidate competency before investing time in interviews. The founding team wanted a marketplace built exclusively around this niche, with trust built into the platform itself rather than left to each employer to figure out on their own.
The Challenge
Generic job boards and freelance platforms don't verify domain skills or professional aptitude, so employers ended up repeating the same screening work for every candidate. There was no reusable signal of quality, no standardized way to compare applicants, and no mechanism to surface genuinely qualified talent above the noise.
Our Approach
We designed an AI-driven vetting pipeline using the Claude API to generate, administer, and score both a psychometric assessment and a domain skills test for every candidate, covering bookkeeping, Xero, MYOB, payroll, and general accounting. Candidates who pass both earn a Pre-Vetted Badge that drives their ranking in every employer search, with tier-based access (free vs. Premium) enforced server-side so the paywall can't be bypassed client-side.
